In Useme we are aware that some jobs are time-consuming or too complex to settle them within just one deal. For this reason, you can settle a deal via Useme in multiple stages.
How can I conclude a deal in milestones?
Signing a freelance contract in milestones does not differ at all from signing a freelance contract for a "single" job.
Click on the "Sign a freelance contract" form and complete it, marking "Advance payment / Milestones" checkbox in step 2. Checking the field causes an extra, short form to appear. Specify the names of subsequent milestones along with descriptions, prices and expected delivery dates.
If any of the job's milestones are delayed, subsequent milestones will be prolonged as well.
How can I settle a deal in milestones?
After you have completed the "Sign a freelance contract" form, send it to us and on its basis, we will send your Client a pre-invoice for the first milestone. After paying for it, the Employer will receive a VAT invoice from us.
When the payment is credited to our account, the period of time allowed to finish the work will begin. Upload the finished work for the first milestone to Useme via the link sent to you in a separate system message or from your account (My account → specific deal → specific milestone → Upload your work).
After its acceptance, we will pay you the remuneration and send a pre-invoice for the next milestone to the Employer, and the whole procedure will be repeated.
If you have uploaded your work for the first milestone of the deal, it will automatically end and we will send a pre-invoice for the next milestone to the Employer and repeat the whole process.
The Employer will receive a separate invoice for each milestone.
When to use a deal in milestones?
Consider using a deal in milestones if you want to settle:
- a vast scope of work
If a commissioned job is complex, a deal in milestones is beneficial to both parties. The Employer can monitor the progress of the work systematically and can divide said work into smaller stages to increase the Freelancer's comfort. - long work completion deadline
In the case of a job that demands a longer period of time to achieve the desired results, a deal in milestones will help facilitates said work completion. Dividing it into milestones makes it easier to settle already performed tasks without having to wait for the settlement until the complete work is finished. - corrections
Choose a deal in milestones if you allow for paid corrections to the commissioned job. It can be useful, for instance, while performing graphics work where, apart from a specific number of corrections included in the job's price, you want to add paid corrections separately as well. - advance payment
Using a deal in milestones, you can also settle a deal in which you collect an advanced payment towards further activities related to the job's realization. Remember, however, that we collect an advance on income tax from the advance payment.
If you collect advance payments to secure remuneration, a more efficient way is to settle the work via Useme.
